What’s your Golden Hour?
My golden hour is before bed. If I get home from the studio at a decent hour, I love the time after I eat a home-cooked meal when I can take a shower, get into bed before 9, and watch reruns of comforting 90s sitcoms. It's such a treat that I try to make time for most days of the week.
What makes this collaboration special for you?
The collaboration is so special to me because the people behind Golde have been great friends to me for years now. I started using Golde in 2018 and became a part of Club Golde in 2019. Golde's team and purpose are so wonderful. Golde is definitely a business that inspired me to grow my own and Trinity's office_hrs have been incredibly helpful in navigating all the nitty-gritty of running a small business.
How did you start Hotel Ceramics?
I graduated from college in June 2020 with absolutely zero job prospects. The pandemic flipped my entire post-grad plan on its head. I became a member at a community ceramic studio to fill my time. I was there all day, every day just creating anything I could. My creativity blossomed after being stifled for 4 years with analytical and theory-heavy schoolwork. Soon, I made too much work to keep for myself or give to friends and I decided to start selling it. I started sharing my work on Instagram and soon I had enough orders to keep me busy through the end of the year. I would not be anywhere without the people who supported and continue to support me. It is still surreal that I get to do this for a living, I'm eternally grateful!
What does wellness look like for you on a daily basis?
I tend to overwork myself and am fairly disciplined, so daily wellness looks like taking a guilt-free break or giving myself a treat. Advice that always sticks with me comes from Agent Dale Cooper of Twin Peaks. He says, “I'm going to let you in on a little secret: Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen." It reminds me to take a step back and separate myself and my work from the urge to be productive. I try to indulge or do something I enjoy a little bit every day.
Set your alarms! Our super-limited drop of Chunky Mugs in a Golde-exclusive Papaya glaze lands 12/1 at 12pm ET.
